Technical Assistance to Enhance Value Addition, Market Access and Competitiveness of the Private Sector in Namibia

The project “Technical Assistance to Enhance Value Addition, Market Access and Competitiveness of the Private Sector in Namibia” supports Namibia’s efforts to increase exports and strengthen local industries, specially under the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with the European Union.

It delivers high-level technical advice, sector analysis, and capacity-building services to improve the country’s legal and business environment, promote value chain development, and enable small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to compete more effectively in regional and international markets.

Key areas of work include:

  1. Improving the legal and regulatory framework for trade and investment
  2. Supporting value chain development, such as charcoal, seafood, gemstones, cosmetics and minerals
  3. Enhancing data and economic analysis for better policy making
  4. Strengthening business support structures, particularly for SMEs, women and youth-led enterprises

The scope of work includes reviewing trade laws, developing strategies for Special Economic Zones, conducting gap analyses, and advising on export promotion and investment policies. In parallel, the project provides training in entrepreneurship, product development and business management, alongside facilitating B2B networking and market research.
