EU Policy and Public Diplomacy Partnership in South America
Our team supported the European Union’s public diplomacy strategy and external action priorities across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Uruguay. The initiative, in line with the EU’s soft power and foreign policy goals, aimed to (1) boost mutual understanding, promote EU values and foster long-term relationships with key stakeholders, and (2) increase awareness and engagement with the EU’s role in global affairs, positioning the EU as a trusted partner in the region.
Key activities included:
- Dialogues with local authorities, businesses, media, and universities, promoting EU priorities and visibility at subnational levels.
- Diplomatic, executive and journalists’ training on EU institutions, policies, policymaking, standards and market access.
- Business breakfasts to promote EU standards, opportunities, and regulatory issues with private sector actors.
- Youth-oriented activities, study visits to Europe and cultural events.
- Tailored communications for high-impact engagement and long-term connection with audiences.
In summary, the project contributed to a more coherent and strategic presence of the European Union across South America, reinforcing trust and mutual understanding with a wide range of target audiences.
