Development of Regional Value Chains in the SADC Region

Our team assisted the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in advancing its industrialisation and regional integration agenda. The study (1) identified high-potential Regional Value Chain (RVC) projects in agro-processing and mineral sectors across the SADC Member States and (2) structured and promoted investable RVC projects to drive job creation, economic diversification and cross-border trade.

Key activities included:

• Review of key strategic regional frameworks, such as the SADC Industrialisation Strategy and Roadmap, the Costed Action Plan, the Regional Agricultural Policy (RAP) and existing research.
• Mapping and prefeasibility assessments of value chain opportunities
• Shortlisting high-potential, high-impact projects
• Packaging projects for presentation to SADC investment platforms and external partners
• Align interest among SADC Member States and other project stakeholders
