Improving Namibia’s Business Landscape for Trade Expansion

A new initiative has been launched to improve value addition, market access, and competitiveness for Namibia’s private sector under the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). The project aims to strengthen the legal and regulatory environment, support value chain development, and improve Namibia’s business landscape for global trade expansion.
Equinoccio has been awarded the contract to provide assistance in implementing this initiative. The project runs from June 2023 to June 2025.
Key focus areas include:
- Regulatory improvements: Supporting the revision of trade legislation and development of strategies for Special Economic Zones.
- Value chain support: Enhancing key sectors such as cosmetics, charcoal, gemstones, seafood, and mineral beneficiation.
- Business development services: Providing training in entrepreneurship, product development, and international marketing.
- Data-driven policymaking: Conducting surveys and economic analysis to inform better decision-making.
By building capacity, improving market intelligence, and fostering stronger trade networks, this initiative aims to create a more competitive and sustainable private sector in Namibia.
