Equinoccio Launches Survey to Gauge U.S. Readiness for EU Deforestation Regulation

Equinoccio has launched a targeted survey across key U.S. sector associations and institutions to assess the preparedness of American companies for the upcomingEU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). Through this survey, Equinoccio aims to better understand how aware and prepared U.S. stakeholders are in sectors directly affected by the regulation. The results will provide valuable insights into knowledge gaps, implementation challenges, and areas where further guidance or support may be needed.

The EUDR, set to take effect on December 30, 2025, introduces stringent new requirements for companies placing certain commodities and derived products on the EU market — including soy, coffee, cocoa, palm oil, cattle, rubber, and wood. Businesses will be required to prove that these products are not linked to deforestation or forest degradation after December 31, 2020, and that they comply with all relevant local laws.

“Given the global nature of supply chains, the EUDR has significant implications for U.S. exporters,” said Angel Diez, Managing Partner of Equinoccio. “Our objective is to map the level of readiness among companies that will be required to comply with these due diligence obligations when trading with the EU.”

The findings of the survey will help inform training and advisory initiatives to support compliance and avoid trade disruptions. Equinoccio invites all relevant associations and institutions to participate and contribute to shaping a more sustainable and deforestation-free global trade landscape.
