Developing Private Sector Capacity to Trade and Invest Between the EU and Tanzania

This initiative contributed to reinforcing EU–Tanzania trade and investment relations, while also addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by Tanzania’s Lower Middle-Income Country status. It focused on improving collaboration between Tanzanian and EU private sector organisations (PSOs), public institutions, and academic networks to shape a more enabling business environment and advise on policy reforms.

Key activities included:

  • Organisation of networking events including the Tanzania–EU Business Forum.
  • Production of studies on investment, business competitiveness and the implications of Brexit on Tanzania’s private sector.
  • Preparing sectoral case studies.
  • Strategic communication plan and outreach tools to improve the visibility of EU–Tanzania cooperation.
  • Engagement with higher education institutions.
  • Advise on monitoring of Tanzania’s business environment reforms.
