Study of EPA Negociations Impact on Agro-Processing Industry and Service Sectors (Tourism, Transport and Distribution)

The rationale for this project is to assist with advancing the progress of the Economic Partnership Agreement negotiation by providing advisory services to support and clarify for the government of Ethiopia how sectors such as agro-industry and services will benefit from the sustainable development made possible under this form of cooperation.

The project support is a combination of:

• An assessment of the genuine implications of an EPA on specific sectors in order to facilitate informed decision-making
• A further assessment in the light of this information of the effects on the Ethiopian economy, and in particular on goods classified as sensitive and services of economic importance
• Raising the level of Ethiopian awareness about the EPA through the organisation of seminars to present and discuss the results of the study.
