Scheduling of Commitments and Verification of other Members Schedules

The rationale for this project is that the provision of advisory services to the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Namibia, and other invited countries from the Southern African Customs Union (SACU) Member States on how to schedule, verify, rectify and modify their respective commitments in agricultural and non-agricultural market access, services and trade facilitation will significantly build institutional capacity and personal skills in scheduling.

The project support is a combination of:

  • Analysis of the weaknesses inherent in SACU relating to scheduling, identify ways to modify schedules if rectifications are made and to renegotiate schedules
  • Development and delivery of a workshop on scheduling attended by public sector policy makers from the SACU Member States, mainly from Ministries of Industry, Economy and Trade, Finance, Agriculture, private sector and academia
