Needs Assessment for Trade Related Assistance in Vietnam

  • To assist Vietnam in its efforts to increase its participation in World Trade and to participate more fully in the World Trading System by developing a pro poor strategy for trade reform and trade related assistance.
  • To assist the country integrate trade into its development policy.
  • To support the development of Vietnam’s capacity to negotiate effectively on trade and investment issues and implement its commitments at multilateral, regional and bilateral levels.
  • To provide practical reinforcement for the implementation of existing trade-related rules and procedures such as customs and IPR.
  • To support the adaptation by Vietnamese exporters to evolving technical requirements/standards in major export markets affecting trade in goods and services, especially regarding food safety and the environment.
