Evaluation of the Programme Supporting the Development of Biotechnologies in Mercosur - Biotech

The rationale for this project is that the Mercosur biotechnology sector should be coordinated and secure; and that strengthening the efficiency of public and private sector research activity will increase the technology transfer activity between research centres and companies and promote greater regional competitiveness.

The project support is a combination of:

• Recommendations for creating a sustainable regional biotechnology platform in MERCOSUR for coordinating the interests of entrepreneurs, researchers and governments
• Recommendations supporting the definition and implementation of a regional strategy in the biotechnology sector and facilitating technology transfer
• Recommendations for increasing technology transfer activities from the academic sector to the production sector, with a regional focus on MERCOSUR
