Social Sector
Equinoccio operates in the design and implementation of programmes and projects that contribute to improving the capacity of governments and authorities in Governance, Human Rights and Human Development. The primary objective being to ensure the respect for, and safeguarding of, human rights and the protection of vulnerable sections of society. In this regard, we are active in areas such as migration, women’s issues, employment and relevant cross-cutting issues including gender, human rights, good governance and conflict prevention along two principal dimensions:
- The national dimension: working on policy frameworks and helping to develop the capacities of the local public administration in sensitive matters
- The external dimension: in relation to national participation in regional processes and joint initiatives between neighbouring countries/regions which require international cooperation and/or international agreements
We achieve this by providing the following services:
- Analytical studies of institutional frameworks, both at political and at operational level
- Studies of current trends, socio-economic profiles and other relevant indicators
- Analysis of EU and other donor funded projects implemented in the country and region including the evaluation of the strengths, weaknesses and impact of the various approaches adopted
- Analysis of relevant cross-cutting issues including gender, human rights, good governance and conflict prevention, amongst others
- Evaluation of various risk scenarios and the development of solutions and adjustments to improve effectiveness and impact
- Establishment of performance and impact monitoring indicators
