Position:  Key Expert 2

Location: Home-based

Duration: 210 working days / 24 months

Calendar: From January 2023 (24 months)

Project: Support to EU Arctic policy

Project Description: The overall objective to which this action contributes is to support the European Union in addressing short- and medium-term foreign policy needs and opportunities linked to the implementation of the EU Arctic policy

Qualifications and skills

  • Advanced university degree (Master degree) in one of the following fields: social sciences, economics, international relations, communication, geography, urban planning/development, or another directly related discipline to this assignment. Alternatively, secondary education diploma and 8 years of full-time proven relevant experience additional to the requested general and specific professional experience (see below).
  • Fluency in English (C1 level)

General professional experience

  • Minimum 5 years full-time equivalent proven post-graduate general professional experience in EU regional development policies, social sciences, economics, international relations, geography, or another directly related discipline to this assignment.

Specific professional experience

  • Minimum 2 years full-time equivalent proven post-graduate experience working as an expert in the fields of: sustainable urban development, city/regional pairing, regional development, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year full-time equivalent proven professional experience in working with sub-national entities (e.g. regions, cities, other local governments) and/or their groupings.
  • Working experience related to the Arctic Region, relevant to the scope of this contract will be considered a strong asset;
