KE1 Team Leader - Arctic

Position:  Team Leader

Location: Home-based

Duration:  180 working days

Calendar:  From January 2023 (24 months)

Project: Support to EU Arctic policy

Project Description: The overall objective to which this action contributes is to support the European Union in addressing short- and medium-term foreign policy needs and opportunities linked to the implementation of the EU Arctic policy

Qualifications and skills

  • Advanced university degree (Master degree) in one of the following fields: social sciences, economics, international relations, environment or another directly related discipline to this assignment. Alternatively, secondary education diploma and 8 years of full-time proven relevant experience additional to the requested general and specific professional experience (see below).
  • Fluency in English (C1 level)

General professional experience

  • Minimum 5 years full-time equivalent of proved experience as a team leader in managing at least 2 different complex projects/programmes involving multiple activities with different stakeholders in various sectors (Project management experience; people management experience to be able to lead, coach and motivate a team of experts to deliver the required results);
  • Minimum 10 years full-time equivalent proven post-graduate general professional experience in EU policies, social sciences, economics, international relations, or another directly related discipline to this assignment.

Specific professional experience

  • Minimum 5 years full-time equivalent proven specific professional experience as lead of project(s) supporting EU policy support in external relations;
  • Working experience related to the Arctic Region, relevant to the scope of this contract will be considered a strong asset;
  • At least 2 years full-time equivalent proven specific professional experience working on climate change and environmental issues or energy or maritime security and safety or health security or ocean governance, will be considered a strong asset.
