Position: Several Trade Policy Sectoral Analysts

Project: Support to the implementation of the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement

Location: Singapore

Starting date: March 2020

Duration of project: short-term inputs along 24 months

Qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant Advanced university degree (Master degree)
  • Strong analytical capabilities and extensive knowledge of international trade, in particular EU external trade;
  • Deep knowledge of Singapore’s political and economic reforms, legislative and regulatory framework, local administrative and business practices;
  • Proficiency in English language and reporting skills

General professional experience:

  • Expertise in specific topics, sectors, and areas covered by the EU-Singapore FTA and other 'new generation' EU FTAs (i.e. Canada, Vietnam)
  • Experience of direct exposure to Singapore policy formulation in trade-related areas;

Specific professional experience: 

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience related to data gathering, analysis, and reporting in specific fields related to trade including but not restricted to:
    • Customs, trade facilitation and rules of origin, tariffs,
    • Technical Barriers to Trade; Sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures and agro-related regulations;
    • Services (including financial services, professional services, transport and environmental services); government procurement and public-private partnership (PPP);
    • Investment protection;
    • Sustainable Development (including labour standards, climate change and environment),
    • Intellectual property;
  • Experience in EU Trade Policies is an asset.
